#PhotoDescription: A group of children and women gather to protest for climate justice.
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled for the first time that a national government (Switzerland) is legally obligated to meet its climate targets and protect the health and wellbeing of its citizens against climate change. The lawsuit was advanced by a collective of 2,000 women, aged 64 and older. Similar efforts are appearing elsewhere, including Ashoka Fellow Dune Lankard. This news arrives as new global data shows record-breaking temperatures for ten-months straight.
