Technology, climate, the economy, and geopolitics are all changing fast. Last week, world leaders gathered in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss how global financial and institutional systems can evolve to meet these changes and make them work for everyone. Ashoka Fellows were there too, at UNGA and Climate Week NYC, sharing what these transitions look like in practice. Doris Mollel's foundation contributed to a Heads of State side event on accelerating maternal and child survival in Africa. On the ground, Sonja Betschart's WeRobotics emphasized the need for collaborative ecosystems, and Sean Kidney's Climate Bonds released a new methodology to support adaptation and resilience in financial markets. Also, Ian McSweeney's Farmers Land Trust has released open-source tools for farm succession, while Marta Almeida Gil's Inclusive Rescue Project is helping ensure people with disabilities aren't left behind when climate disasters strike.
